How can we build a poem that avoids traveling a straight line, or following a linear narrative, or trying to resolve itself? In this workshop we will be discussing the nature of the orbital poem, how to shape our ideas around an organising principle rather than employing direct or literal modes of address.
The aim is to have a poem that is expansive, open, and comprised of various elements that can constitute a whole. An essential experience for poets who find themselves stuck in logical arcs and are wanting to learn about new ways and techniques to choreography and write poetry.
