Silence

At Mogwai’s gig, a girl,
armed with a belt
of Yakult,
danced
and

knocked
onto me.

The bottled lager
I was drinking
removed the
tip of my
teeth—

all

I heard
was a ringing
through my skull,

which
sheltered
me
within

the wall
of sound.

Antarctica formed its own accent
